Solving for Tech

Situation

Mid-sized and emerging clients indicate that cyber security is an issue that keeps them up at night because they don’t have the internal know-how or experience to combat threats.

In many cases, occupiers find out after the lease is signed that properties they like lack the infrastructure or protocols required to keep tenants safe.

Because we work with occupiers at the onset of a relocation or renewal transaction, we are especially well-positioned to help them address performance and security issues before it’s too late.

Action
I assembled a team of property, facility, engineering, construction and outside tech experts to identify areas where technology, real estate and business performance intersect.

We examined issues most directly affecting building occupiers and considered how property owners and managers could provide solutions.

We shed light on various areas, simple and complex, where early focus and attention could aid the site selection process and avoid unnecessary costs later on.
Result
The result was a program called “Front End” that addressed technology security, performance and continuity in office and industrial buildings.

We identified 16 situations where technology impacts the user experience and provided recommendations for landlords, architects, contractors and other relocation vendors to overcome common technology disconnects.

We also “reversed” the process, and advised our landlord clients how to equip and position their buildings to appeal to tenants for whom security, performance and continuity are a priority.
